Beltane
☆
The Blooming Flame
In ancient times, Beltane was an important celebration in Celtic agricultural societies.
Fires were lit on the hills to protect crops and livestock,
and it was believed that the flames possessed purifying and propitiatory powers.
Herds were driven between twin fires to be blessed and safeguarded from disease,
while people leapt over the bonfires to attract luck and fertility.
On a symbolic and spiritual level, Beltane represents the sacred union between the God and the Goddess,
between the masculine and feminine principles of nature.
It is a moment of harmony and fusion, in which cosmic and earthly energies
come together to give rise to life.
The night of Beltane is approaching....
The sacred bonfire must be lit with the Primordial Flame,
guarded each year by the Circle of Priestesses.
But something has gone wrong.
The Flame has vanished.
Without the Flame, the ritual union between the May Queen and the Green Man
cannot be fulfilled, and the harvest will be barren…
and the summer will not be blessed…
We will gather in Luna to begin the investigation
