A Weight on the Soul
Lyra the Poachers' Tanner, one of the poachers' officers, feels a guilty conscience; your task is to work dragon scales to recreate armor. Unfortunately, the poachers lock up dragon hatchlings captured during nest assaults inside cages, located within the Haven Mine dungeon.
Lyra asks us to go there and search for dragon scales in the dungeon area; she also asks us to bring one of the dragon hatchlings to safety in Destard, in the dragon cave, where they will feel at home. The Ancient Dragon is a fearsome creature; you will have 20 minutes to face it, and an Ankh will be present inside to resurrect! Every guild or group can request a special portal to reach the champion area! Additionally, a "common" portal will be available for anyone without a guild or group to ensure everyone can access the fray.
The Champ is automatically restarted 10 minutes after the boss is defeated!
* We remind you that for the Champion Spawn Event, a system is activated that forces guilds/groups inside as enemies; the portals requested by groups/guilds to access this location generate the teams. To leave the area, you must go to one of the two "Bloody Pentagrams" present in the champ area; these pentagrams will teleport players to the exit location, removing the team and returning to normal gameplay conditions.*

Dragon Nest System
The Dragon Nest Map system is very similar to the classic Treasure Map system but includes some slight differences:
Dragon Nest Maps require Cartography to be decoded just like normal Treasure Maps, but it is also possible to do without it. By using a Mapmaker's Pen with the Cartography skill, it is possible to craft a Decryption Cypher; the item in question is found in the Miscellaneous section and requires 2 Dragon Blood and 20 Blank Scrolls to be crafted.
The Decryption Cypher has 10 uses and allows you to decode Dragon Nest Maps even without possessing the Cartography skill; by double-clicking it and targeting the map, it will be decoded! With each use it loses one charge, and upon reaching 0 uses, it disappears.
Dragon Nest Maps have a random facet, meaning they can indicate the location of Dragon Nests on Trammel, Felucca, Malas, Tokuno, Ilshenar, and Ter-Mur. These maps also have levels like normal Treasure Maps; the levels are Fledgling (1), Lesser (2), Greater (3), Grand (4), Massive (5), and Super Massive (6):
These maps can be inserted like Treasure Maps and SoS inside the Davie's Locker, where the level of the map will also be displayed.
Once the map is decoded, the Dragon Nest will appear at the point and on the facet indicated on it, which, unlike Treasure Chests, does not require the digging action.NB: In the original OSI mechanics, digging is also required for Dragon Nests; we preferred to use this mechanic without the need for the digging action.
Once it appears, the Dragon Nest will remain active for 5 hours; if it is not found within this time limit, the Dragon Nest Map will change coordinates, updating itself and deleting the previously generated nest!
Unlike Treasure Chests, in order to access the loot of the nest, you must first defeat the creatures defending it; in fact, once you reach the nest, the "Guardians" will appear as you attempt to open it:
The Guardians vary in quantity and mob type based on the Dragon Nest Map level, while the Umbrascale Broodmother is a higher-level guardian, effectively a full encounter:
This particular dragon can drop to those with loot rights:
A Random "of the Umbrascales" Artifact of Major or Legendary level or a Mature Umbrascale Dragon Egg
In certain circumstances, along with the "Guardians," an Umbrascale Ascendant might also appear; it is not part of the guardian mobs and is tamable!
Once all the Guardians are defeated, you will be able to access the Dragon Nest:
Inside it, you can find different types of items based on the Nest Level:
From the moment the Dragon Nest is opened, you have 30 minutes to collect the items inside; after 30 minutes, the Dragon Nest will disappear! However, it is possible, as with Treasure Chests, to remove them manually or use the "Burn the Dragon Nest" function:
Burning the Dragon Nest will draw the wrath of the Umbrascale Matriarch! In fact, every nest burned will increase the Matriarch's rage level. You can stay updated on the status of the Umbrascale Matriarch's emergence by checking the "Matriarch Sightings":
- The skies remain still, but the scent of scorched earth lingers faintly on the wind.
- Whispers echo from forgotten caves...something ancient stirs beneath the ash
- Distant roars echo across the mountains. Scorched skies foretell the return of something vast.
- The skies blacken and crackle with flame...Something massive draws near
- From the ashes of the fallen, she rises. All shall burn beneath her gaze.
Through these descriptions, you can determine how much remains until the emergence of the Umbrascale Matriarch. She appears at the location of the last burned Dragon Nest; when she spawns, a public message will be broadcast to warn of her arrival, including the specific coordinates and world.
The Umbrascale Matriarch is a "Super Boss"—proper organization and teamwork will be essential to defeat her! Upon her death, she drops the Umbrascale Satchel to one of those entitled to the loot; this bag contains:
Le Mature Dragon Egg droppate dalla Umbrascale Matriarch sono uniche: non si trovano all'interno dei Dragon Nest, né come drop della Umbrascale Broodmother! Queste uova sono a tutti gli effetti pronte alla schiusura; aprendole, otterrai un "Juvenile Umbrascale". Di seguito trovi l'elenco dei colori disponibili per le uova e i relativi pet:
NB: These colors are the ones discovered so far on OSI servers, but it is rumored that there are others. On UODreams it is possible to obtain several special colorings in many variants, it will be up to you to discover which ones! The variants beyond those shown above will most likely be available only for the duration of this event; in the future, it will be possible to find low-level Dragon Nest Maps in Dragons as loot, medium-high level ones in "boss" Dragons (e.g., Stygian or Rikktor), and they will also be generally added to SoS Chests and the holds of Pirate and Merchant Ships! The Juvenile Umbrascale is a tamer pet that uses 3 control slots with the following stats:
It is possible, however, to transform it into an ethereal mount by using the Orb of Ethereal Transcendence, which can be purchased for 2,000 Quest Points:

The ethereal mount maintains the original color of the egg, so it can be generated in many different versions!
Inside the nest, you can also find "Decorative Dragon Eggs" in various colors and with different names. For this item, a dedicated Collection Showcase has been created, which can be claimed as an event reward:

These eggs come with various names, including: "Damaged, Marred, Ordinary, Well-Preserved, Cracked, and Flawless Pulsing." Additionally, they display a description indicating the Nest Level where they were found and the facet, along with several different subtitles: "Obtained from, Recovered from, Taken from, Poached from, Stolen from, or Discovered in." When placed inside the Collection Showcase, these eggs retain all their original item information; you will be able to view the name, color, and subtitle using the "Show Info" function!
They can also be turned in to the Collector to earn points, whereas the random "of the Umbrascales" items must be smelted at the forge to obtain Blue Scales!
A new armor set will make its debut with this event: the Wyrmscale Armor Set!

Collections Rewards
By completing the missions and the daily quest, you will receive a quantity of "Blue Umbrascales". Furthermore, completing one of the mini-quests grants a random "of the Umbrascales" item, which can also be found within the loot of the Ancient Dragon!
The random "of the Umbrascales" pieces can be smelted at the hearth in the Poachers' Hideout
Smelting them will grant you 10 Blue Umbrascales!
These 10 Blue Umbrascales can then be turned in to the Collector to earn points!
